Featuring a striking embossed gilt motif of scrolls, urns, flowers, leaves and lattices on a dark black ground, this paper was shown in the Birge Book of Decorative Suggestions, c1925-6. Included among 29 Birge papers displayed in the Ninth Annual Exhibition of American Industrial Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, in 1925. Pattern No. 1005.
The wood frame has an espresso finish, a gold fillet liner, and UV resistant museum glass.
