Easily straddling Arts & Crafts and more traditional or naturalistic styles, this gorgeous frieze has a subtle mottled gilt background overprinted with fine multicolored lines that produce a rich, shimmering tapestry effect.
The fruit depicted is much debated - rose hips, pomegranates, etc. - but we have settled on hawthorn berries as the most likely option. Until someone more botanically knowledgeable informs us otherwise...
